Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Eastern Region is currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Traffic Engineer for Design in Spokane, WA. In this role, you will work closely with the region leadership team, Maintenance Manager, Engineering Managers, and Project Engineers to direct, develop, and deliver the complex functions of traffic design. Items range from extremely rural to highly urbanized freeway systems that include Ramp Meters, Traffic Management Center, CCTV, traffic signal systems, geometric design for operations, modeling, and includes testing and demonstrating new technology for potential use. This position provides leadership to its functional groups in Traffic Safety Operations and Field Assessment, including Work Zone Traffic Control; Traffic Design (signals, illumination, ITS devices, ramp meters, signing); and Traffic Low-Cost Operational Enhancements projects (LCE). This position is a Region champion of practical solutions and Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO), with a high level of engagement on region project planning and with eternal partners.
