Job Description:

This program gives the candidate a promotion path starting out as a Technician and transitioning to a Professional classification. The program promotes personal educational growth by paring the candidate with an experience mentor. The potential for advancement is based on educational advancement, work performance, and program availability.

Minimum Qualifications
* High School diploma or its equivalent plus a minimum of three years of related technical experience.
* One full school year of an OO programming language (C++, C#, Java). This could be either High School or College.
* Working knowledge of an IDE: Visual Studio or Eclipse
* Proven ability to program using C++, C#, Java, or Python under the direction of a more experienced Software Engineer.
* Due to the nature of the work, individual must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to pass a national agency check.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

* Associates Degree in Computer Programming, CIS, etc.
* Working experience with C++, C# or Java
* Working experience with any web-based frameworks
* Some experience in the Medical field.
* Working experience with any database technology
* Working experience with Agile software development, including TDD, MVC, Continuous Integration
* Working experience with Git and software development in a team environment
* Working experience with Web development or Mobile App Development Must be able to communicate effectively with team members


Special Instructions to Applicants

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
