Job Description:

Responsibilities
Provide a daily report on safety activities and work tasks

Monitor and document safety practices of the Contractor for each work location

Monitor Contractor’s compliance with its safety programs. Verify the DB Contractor’s compliance with the appropriate safety requirements and with their approved Safety Management Plan

Train client and consultant team staff to comply with the safety policies of client and the approved Safety Management Plan for the project

Review and provide comments for each Site Safety Plan and other safety submittals

Review and provide comments for each Contractor Job Hazard Analysis

Review and provide comments for each Contractor Accident/Incident Report and root cause analysis

Review and provide safety comments or corrective actions for each of the Contractor’s Construction Work Plans

Review the Contractor’s Daily Safety Report

Perform Site Safety Surveillances to cross-check a Job Hazard Analysis for a specific task or activity

Perform a monthly Site Safety documentation audit to verify conformance of contract required documentation

Prepare a monthly site safety report

Attend weekly meetings with the client Safety Manager to report and discuss accidents, near misses, incidents, lost time accidents, reportable and non-reportable injuries, first aid reports, drug and alcohol testing, safety issues or concerns, and other safety-related topics

Review the Contractor’s work in mitigation of identified safety hazards via the Safety and Security Certification Plan and other documentation

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in safety, construction management, or related field; or equivalent experience

At least 5 years' relevant work experience preferred

Experience with design-build transit projects and/or Sound Transit experience a plus

Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently

Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients, contractors, and team members

Excellent written communication and attention to detail

Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Experience with SharePoint a plus

Ability to work independently and accurately under pressure

Valid driver’s license
