Job Description:

Assistant Project Engineer - AWV
Seattle, WA – Northwest Region
$84,804.00 - $108,756.00 Annually

Washington State Department of Transportation is currently seeking an experienced engineer to fill a role working on the Waterfront Program portion of the agency’s Alaskan Way Viaduct (AWV) Replacement Project located in Seattle, WA. This is your chance to help shape and revitalize the Seattle Waterfront from Pioneer Square to Belltown in a new post-AWV era.

The purpose of this position is to participate as an integral member of the City of Seattle’s construction administration team as the Assistant Resident Engineer to manage WSDOT’s portion of the City-led Marion Street Pedestrian Bridge contract. The City’s contract will replace a temporary pedestrian bridge with a permanent structure over the newly rebuilt Alaskan Way in a highly visible and complex environment.  Once completed, the new pedestrian bridge will connect the brand-new Washington State Ferries (WSF) Colman Dock Entry Building at Pier 52 to 1st Ave in Downtown Seattle.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that WSDOT’s portions of the project are constructed to applicable standards in a safe and efficient manner.   In addition, the successful candidate will act as the steward of WSDOT’s legislatively provided funding to ensure that it is spent appropriately and within the baseline schedule timeframe set forth at contract execution.
