Job Description:

This entry-level position will be responsible for working, as part of a diverse and skilled technical team, to integrate and test positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) hardware using both common and novel Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with GNSS hardware and a thorough understanding from signal acquisition to end user exploitation. They will also have on site experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD) and have working knowledge on approval processes for GNSS related signal acquisition.
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or other relevant technical field
2. Familiarity with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers on Windows and Linux platforms
3. Familiarity with Window and Linux software installation processes to aid in GNSS testbed data visualization
4. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required
5. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
 
1. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
2. Working knowledge of satellite navigation/GNSS
3. Experience with test and verification of navigation and communication equipment, including GNSS receivers, GNSS simulators, signal generators, and aviation electronics
4. Familiarity with common radio frequency bands utilized by the DoD and processes required to operate given equipment on a military installation
5. Familiarity with common data collection systems
6. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
7. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
 
Special Instructions to Applicants
A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
