Overview:

A well-established engineering firm is looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join their growing civil team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on both public and private projects. This a long-term, direct hire role with our client located in the Portland Metro area.

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality solutions for both public and private clients
• Use your engineering experience to work on a variety of projects, including onsite development, public works frontage improvements and short street extensions and land development sub-division projects
• Working on projects from design through construction including working with civil drafter designer and engineering team, making site visits, writing field reports and performing document management
• Work with a civil drafter designer on staff - Civil 3D is used for all production work and preparation of constriction documents
• Use HydroCAD for storm drainage analysis and use HydraFlow Civil 3D extension

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required
• 5+ years of related civil engineering experience required
• EIT required, PE preferred
• Must understand the document production process from schematic through construction document and permitting and have experience working on projects through construction including making site visits, writing field reports and document management
• Knowledge of how to design erosion control, grading and utility plans
• Knowledge of civil drafting/design is required
• Have the ability to read and understand storm water design codes and generally implement the jurisdictional standards
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required
• Strong understanding or Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a day
• Strong collaboration skills required
• Excels in advanced thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding verbal and written skills, and experience working with staff on all levels
