This position will support advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities. The position will serve as a senior manufacturing engineer for the additive manufacture of aerospace components focusing on AM build set-up and simulation, surface modification techniques and additive manufacturing technology/parameter development. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the metal additive manufacturing process for both build file preparation and machine operation. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners will be supported as well.

Minimum Qualifications

1. BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Manufacturing or
equivalent related field)
2. 15 years of mechanical engineering or technical project management/leadership experience in a production/design environment
3. 10 years of metal and polymer additive manufacturing experience (min 8 years in metals AM)
4. Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Working knowledge of GD&T standards
5. 5 years of 3D CAD/CAM experience and 2D drawing creation experience
6. Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treatment and surface finishing
7. 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in machining or other advanced manufacturing methods in a regulated industry (AS9100, ISO9000, FDA)
8. Working knowledge in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs
9. Attention to detail
10. Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Familiarity with UDRI/University of Dayton procedures and practices
2. Working knowledge of additive manufacturing simulation software
3. MS in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Manufacturing or equivalent related field)
4. Non Destructive Inspection Experience
