Job Description:

UDRI is seeking a qualified graphic designer to support client research and educational activities. Successful candidate will effect technology adoption through effective print and digital design, strategic communications initiatives, and presentation development.

Minimum Qualifications

BA or BFA degree in graphic design, with 3 years' experience in graphic design fields.

Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, and proficient with document editing and proofing.

Able to comprehend highly technical information and interpret into effective visual and interactive designs.

Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite: including Word and PowerPoint design, formatting, template creation and editing.

Demonstrated experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite: including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier and After Effects.

Creative innovator with an understanding of branding, color theory, visual hierarchy, composition, typography, user interface and user experience.

Organized and able to maintain strict file management practices and policies.

Critical thinker who is able to work strategically, prioritize projects, work independently to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively in teams.

Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship required.
 

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

3+ years of directly related graphic design experience.

Experience in photography working with professional equipment including: DSLR cameras and lenses, flash and fill lighting, as well as photo editing with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

Experience in course development and design using Articulate 360, Blackboard or other online platforms.

Experience storyboarding and collaborating with technical subject matter expert’s as part of instructional design.

Working knowledge of US Air Force culture, command structure and facilities.

Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.

An understanding of how people and organizations navigate change and the change process.

Demonstrated successful experience working with technical subjects and collaborating with research engineers.

Strong analytical thinking skills and problem solving abilities. Willing to travel.
 

Special Instructions to Applicants

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
