Job Summary

Cosmic AES is looking for a BS, MS and PhD Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and/or Mathematics graduates to join the team at Cosmic AES to fill the role of DSP Engineer Intern. Engineers in this position will work within a small (4-8 people) team and will be responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and supporting the operation of leading-edge signal processing and communications systems solutions for DoD and IC customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with a broad range of technologies on a multi-disciplinary design team to solve engineering problems
• Design and implement core software components to interface with hardware, implement backend logic, perform signal processing functions, and provide user interfaces
• Translate algorithm prototypes into optimized, production-quality code suitable for operational deployment
• Contribute to the development of design documentation and other documentation artifacts
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• A self-motived engineer with a passion for software development, software architecture, and related topics
• BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and Mathematics or presently enrolled in one of these programs.
• Must be a team player and able to work closely in a fast paced, small engineering team which includes other software engineers, DSP engineers, hardware engineers, systems engineers, and test engineers
• Understanding of software and algorithms in languages such as C, C++ or Python
• Understanding of network communications, TCP/IP socket programming, etc.
• Understanding of the Open Source ecosystem, major frameworks and projects, and the ability to develop in a Linux environment.
