About the Role
FloorSight is looking for our first DevOps Engineer. As a DevOps Engineer you are a generalist who will critically analyze specific challenges and contribute in building and scaling our infrastructure. You can also expect to collaborate with other members of the team including other engineers, data scientists, and executive leadership. This can be a full or part time role.

A generalist, comfortable with picking up new technologies and projects independently
Enjoys building infrastructure from the ground up, which will support our development team
Able to research and recommend new technologies and emerging operational practices; recommend services and practices that could be leveraged as business needs arise
Excited to proactively solve complex problems, and communicate both problem and solution to a diverse audience
You are an enthusiastic teammate, who engages in collaboration and proactive discussion. You are an effective communicator who can explain technical concepts to product leaders, customer support, and other engineers. You are also adept at identifying and evaluating trade-offs, willing to be proven wrong, and quick to support your teammates.
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to work legally in the US without visa sponsorship
Experience working in a cloud based environment, such as AWS, to manage and monitor infrastructure
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, like Terraform, to define and maintain computing environment
Experience with build and deploy automation and CI/CD using tools like Jenkins and Airflow
Experience with containers and orchestration tools like Docker
Experience with managing relational databases like PostgreSQL
Scripting ability with Bash and other languages such as Python
Curiosity and desire to expand your breadth of knowledge by taking on unfamiliar tasks outside of usual area of expertise
Dedication to code quality, automation, and operational excellence (unit/integration tests, scripts, workflows)
Understand and appreciate good software engineering practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, and refactoring
Able to establish and maintain DevOps automation usage guidelines, standards, and best practices, to ensure tool use is efficient, effective and secure
