Job Description:

SHINE Technologies, LLC is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to our team to help develop the software for these large, complex systems and other capital equipment we design & build.  This engineer must have a strong background in developing system control software and must be capable of capturing and delivering features autonomously.  This position will be responsible for all aspects of software design on assigned projects, including design, test plan creation, and supporting software releases to production & the field.

When you are part of the SHINE team, you’ll do important work, like helping to:

  • Manufacture medical radioisotopes to support the treatments of the 56,000 American patients that need them each day
  • Test turbine blades before they are assembled into jet engines
  • Verify the proper content of nuclear fuel rods
  • Identify & locate buried explosive devices
  • Create the next generation of technology in the semiconductor industry

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in software planning and design
  • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software
  • Independently manage individual software deliverables and deadlines
  • Lead development teams within the discipline and assist in mentoring team members
  • Provide technical guidance in planning and executing assigned projects
  • Perform in team environment with other software engineers and engineers from other disciplines
  • Assist Project Managers in project budgeting and schedule preparation activities
  • Provide support in system acceptance testing and validation activities
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing system designs

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in C/C++, C#, or Java.
  • Experience in Objective C or Python is a plus.
  • Experience in the following: distributed systems, real-time systems, Unix/Linux environments, networking, and multi-threaded programming.
  • Effective problem solving, judgment, and independent thinking skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within team environments.
