Job Description:

This is for a position at Robins AFB, GA. This position is to provide structural engineering sustainment, including Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) work, and structural repair. This work includes a wide variety of tasks ranging from field and depot requests for engineering assistance for aircraft damage outside established limits, analysis of structural risk for individual aircraft, life calculations for standard structural repairs, design of new structural repairs including calculation of static structural margins of safety as well as damage tolerance, data collection and analysis of fleetwide and individual aircraft usage, development and application for Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) for specific inspection locations. It also includes auditing of maintenance, repair, and inspection activities to ensure compliance with USAF requirements. This work includes direct hands-on work with aircraft in depot repair as well as travel to locations where fielded aircraft require engineering support.

Minimum Qualifications

P1 level minimum requirements:
Minimum educational qualification is a Bachelors to PhD in Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Combined Engineering.
Applicants must have excellent computer (MS Office Suite of Tools) as well as verbal and written communications skills.
Applicants must be willing to travel as needed for this position
US citizen

Additional P2 level minimum requirements:
A minimum of three years of directly related experience is required

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with aircraft, structural analysis, structural repair, ASIP, and CAD is preferred.
Direct hands-on experience with maintenance, mechanical design, repair, and testing is preferred. Experience with Matlab and large databases is preferred.
