The Technical Specialist, Computer-Aided Design (CAD)/Building Information Modelling (BIM), & Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) provides CAD, BIM and CAFM support to internal clients. The incumbent acts a technical specialist, managing CAD drawings, populating space and facility data, and supporting the administration of the Client-Partner’s CAFM system. The incumbent produces CAD drawings and BIM models in response to Client-Partner requests, collaborates with peers and the Client-Partners, completes as-built drawings upon project completion and fulfills regular reporting requirements. The incumbent also provides technical advice related to BIM and asset information management, analyzes the effects of current and proposed software on the BIM process, and helps create and maintain Client Partner CAD/BIM/CAFM standards and related documents. The incumbent assists with other projects (e.g. database entry, special projects), as required.
Primary
- Produce CAD drawings and BIM models in response to Client-Partner requests
- Support the administration of the Client-Partner’s CAFM system, including facility data population, quality assurance and management, reporting capability development, troubleshooting and end-user technical support
- Provide technical advice regarding BIM and CAFM integration (e.g. standards, software analysis, Revit user input)
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
- Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations

- Provide administrative and project support (e.g. filing, reporting, document creation)

General and Specific Knowledge

- Basic knowledge of CAFM software (e.g. Archibus) and facility/space management best practices, methods, industry standards and trends
- Knowledge of relational databases is considered an asset
Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience
- Minimum: college diploma in architecture, civil engineering, building construction or related field, with approximately two years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
