Job Description:

I have a Direct Hire opportunity for an extremely large contractor in the transportation construction industry. This company has been in business almost 100 years.
We are currently looking for Project Engineers to join the team in Columbia, SC
This is a salaried position with benefits package
Salary requirements can be discussed in initial interview with contractor

The Project Engineer is responsible for all routine on-site project administration, scheduling and engineering. Plans, coordinates, and manages on-site construction engineering activities and schedules and communicates with subcontractors. Prepares monthly pay estimates and updates the Project CPM schedule. Prepares, coordinates and updates job budgets, change orders and cost reports for Manager s review and approval.

 Project Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Breaking down plan sets and organizing by work scope in BOX.
  • Correspondence tracking and filing in BOX.
  • Material and shop drawing submittals and tracking.
  • COINS labor, equipment, material and quantities tracking. COINS CTC forecasting, equipment schedule update and staffing schedule update.
  • Assist Project Manager with 3 Week Look Ahead schedules and work planning.
    • project numbers and codes.
    • quantity and production rates.
    • staff and equipment schedule/needs.
  • Quantity verification and owner pay estimates and billing.
  • Assist Project Manager with project roster updates.
  • Assist Project Manager with project log updates and maintenance.
  • Assist Project Manager with utility coordination and locate orders.
  • Update project meeting minutes and action items (project log).
  • Assist with P6 project schedule updates and modifications.
  • Assist with development of project change orders and claims.
  • Manage office admin and field Engineering staff to support your role.
  • Coding and submittal of invoicing to office for AP.
  • Manage confirmation of subcontractor billing with GF admin.
  • Assist with DBE Reporting with GF.
  • Project layout and survey support.
Position requirements include:
  • BS Civil Engineering / Construction Management.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and COINS .
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Team player and self-motivated to succeed.
  • Periodic daily travel required.
  • Legally able to work in the US.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
