Job Description:

Job Summary:
This position will support the design and manufacturing of Allied products. Direct support of day-to-day engineering functions with proficiency in utilization of CAD for design and detailing, use of instruments for measuring and analysis, detailed reporting and productive interdepartmental exchange.

Responsibilities:
  • No supervisory responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Maintains engineering documents in a secure fashion.
  • Designs new products.
  • Supports suppliers, customers and corporate management.
  • Supports manufacturing and quality with necessary documents.
  • Assists in development of fixtures and tooling drawings.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organizations competitive edge.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Able to work and complete projects with little or no supervision.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as drafting (ASME Y14.5M based) and technical drawing creation.
  • Detailed dimensional stack-up analysis and proper use of GD&T
  • Utilization of CAD for both 2D and 3D complete works (AutoCAD/Inventor preferred, other comparable platform experience a plus, i.e. SolidWorks).   
  • Good knowledge of materials such as steel, cast iron, powdered metal and metallurgical treatments.
  • Working knowledge of modern industrial manufacturing processes and systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred or 2 year associate degree in mechanical engineering; combined with related job experience or overall work experience and capability commensurate to such scope.  
  • At least 7 years of engineering and design experience required.
  • Experience required in mechanical and hydraulic products, including pump.
  • Transmission pump design experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
