Job Description:

The primary role of the Civil/Geotechnical Project Engineer is to coordinate the design and execution of civil and geotechnical projects. The incumbent performs field explorations and investigations, prepares scoping documents with internal and external teams, performs analysis and design for civil and geotechnical projects, and oversees detailed design drawing development. The Civil/Geotechnical Project Engineer prepares and presents hydrologic and hydraulic engineering reports with a strong understanding of site geotechnical engineering components to both internal and external stakeholders.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation

·       Perform civil and geotechnical analysis to assess potential mitigation options for pipeline erosion, landslide, and fault line projects.

·       Develop, communicate, and coordinate project scope, budget, and schedule with internal teams as well as with client stakeholders.

·       Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations.

·       Provide hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of site conditions. Perform appropriate calculations and prepare data reports for clients.

·       Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities.

·       Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time.

·       Oversee and coordinate the development of construction documents and projects.

·       Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.

·       Review and approve civil/geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants.

·       Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.

·       Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate industry regulatory requirements. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·    BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.

·       EIT Certification preferred.

·       1-4 years of professional experience.

·       Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards.
