Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Engineer with Hines, you will maintain basic operation and maintenance of all building equipment and systems by routinely reviewing operating conditions and established programs with the Supervisor to understand and resolve any abnormal operating issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide prompt and courteous response to tenant requests within the guidelines set forth by Hines.
  • Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers.
  • Cleaning drains by means of plunger and hand held auger.
  • Perform general labor, such as carrying stacking and sorting of materials used in and around the job site, as well as debris removal.
  • Using Employer supplied vehicle, travel for parts and supplies.
  • Repairs on registers and radiators.
  • Minor repairs on furniture and floors.
  • Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware.
  • Repair of floor maintenance equipment and venetian blinds.
  • Maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other touch up in building facilities.
  • General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
  • Clean up job site and equipment by means of vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber waxer, steam cleaner, high pressure spray cleaner, as well as other types of cleaning devices or equipment.
  • Cleaning and painting of non-operating mechanical equipment which has been shut down, locked out and tagged by a Journeyman Engineer in accordance with Article XX: Safety Lockout Program.
  • Miscellaneous handyman work requiring the limited use of hand tools.
  • Maintain ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors and tenants.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • One or more years of plumbing, electrical and commercial HVAC experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong initiative and customer service orientation.
  • Must be able to work a rotating schedule which may include some weekends.
