The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is eager to hire multiple transportation technicians to support our SR 167/509 Gateway Program in Seattle as a Materials Tester. This is an in-training position that offers a career path and on-the-job training and allows the incumbent to progress upward through the Transportation Technician field. The Materials Tester will perform construction Quality Verification audits validating the Design-Builder’s adherence to the Request for Proposal requirements. The incumbent will also perform materials testing to ensure compliance with the project contract requirements. As the Materials Tester, this position is vital to ensuring that testing, sampling, and documentation of construction materials is accomplished efficiently and accurately while aligning with applicable rules and policies.
