UDRI’s Sustainment Technologies Transition (STT) division closely supports the AF Rapid Sustainment Office in technology transition of advanced manufacturing technologies. This position is located at UDRI’s facility in Moraine, OH and will focus on supporting transition of additive manufacturing (AM), cold spray repair, and applied corrosion technologies using non-destructive evaluation (NDE) methods of x-ray computed tomography (XCT), digital radiography (DR), x-ray diffraction (XRD), electromagnetic testing (ET), ultrasonic testing c-scan (UTC), and phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT). Key tasks include applying USAF and industry standards and best practices to establish NDE acceptance and rejection criteria, inspection methods, and procedures for emerging technologies, as well as performing and reporting XCT scanning, reconstruction, and analysis, residual stress measurements using XRD, and eddy current and ultrasonic measurements.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, engineering technology, or related field OR 12 years’ demonstrated experience and performance in the NDE field.
2. 8 years of multi-industry non-destructive evaluation (NDE) experience applying x-ray computed tomography (XCT), digital radiography (DR), x-ray diffraction (XRD), electromagnetic testing (ET), ultrasonic testing (UT), phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), and/or thermography NDE methods to evaluation of materials and components.
3. More than 5 years of experience as certified American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level III in multiple methods, including radiographic testing (RT).
4. More than 5 years of field, time on tools experience inspecting military and additive manufactured (AM) components.
5. Research experience planning and conducting experiments, analysis, and interpretation.
6. Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and clients at all levels.
8. Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with X-ray CT for evaluation of AM materials and components.
2. More than 8 years of experience in applying NDE techniques such as XCT, DR, XRD, ET, UT, PAUT, and/or thermography.
3. Experience using Volume Graphics, Inspect-X, CT Pro, CT Agent, and LT NDT Suite software for data analysis and CT image processing.
4. Project management experience.
5. Demonstrated technical writing skills.
5. Working knowledge of USAF policies and procedures.
