The position will be focused on understanding the material science issues of polymer additive manufacturing, and connecting material properties to part end-use requirements. This will include material / process risk assessments and selection, troubleshooting, ideation for process improvement and / or material replacement, test plan development and execution, test data interpretation and reporting, and validation of part performance vs. end-use requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
1. BS degree in materials or polymer engineering
2. 3 years of directly related experience in polymer and/or polymer matrix composite engineering
3. 3 years of directly related experience with polymer and/or polymer matrix composite characterization and property development including method selection and/or development, data collection and analysis
4. Experience with Design of Experiments and statistical analysis
5. Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to perform extensive research, catalogue findings during development activities, and write reports for both internal and external use
6. Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills with coworkers and clients at all levels
7. Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
8. Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in relevant engineering field (such as materials, chemical, aerospace, polymer)
2. Experience with additive manufacturing
3. 3 plus years of directly related experience in polymer and/or polymer matrix composite engineering
4. Experience qualifying aerospace products and processes
5. Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills with coworkers and clients at all levels
6. Demonstrated self-motivation with ability to work with minimal supervision
7. Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures
