Job Description:

This position is located at Robins AFB, GA. As part of the AF Corrosion Prevention and Control Office, the candidate supports sustainment technology development and integration projects related to aerospace systems corrosion prevention and control. These include material performance assessments, maintenance process optimization, organic and inorganic coating application and removal processes, and related health, safety, and environmental activities. The candidate develops and executes project plans, plans and manages qualification testing, and participates in community outreach events. The position supports a government product support engineering and field maintenance management activity with potential to interact with industry, academia, and multiple government agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

R2 level -
BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Three years of direct experience required
Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate attention to detail Strong problem solving skills
Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
Experience in materials analysis through use of chemical analytical methods such as FTIR, microscopy, XRF, etc.
Experience working with the US Air Force Corrosion Prevention and Control Office
2+ years’ experience developing SOPs for chemical analysis processes
2+ years’ experience with ISO or other similar certifications
2+ years' experience with systems engineering
2+ years' data analysis experience
Effective written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

R3 Level -
Eight years of direct experience required
 

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree (chemistry or related engineering field) Understanding of aircraft and systems design and operation
Project or Program Management experience
Engineering test planning and execution experience
Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures
Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills
Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision and in ambiguous project environments
3+ years’ experience developing SOPs for chemical analysis processes
3+ years’ experience with ISO or other similar certifications
3+ years' experience with systems engineering
3+ years' data analysis experience
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
Active US Security Clearance
