Position Description:

Cosmic AES is looking for a Test Engineer to support the development and testing of Remote Modular Terminals (RMT) for the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO). The selected candidate will join a high performing team of engineers and technicians supporting the development of cutting-edge technology for mission critical systems. The candidate is expected to apply best test engineering principals and Agile methodologies to test and validate the results of the research, design, and development efforts. The selected candidate must be capable of analyzing the existing capabilities and translating/developing Test Use Cases designed to test against program requirements. performing challenging and complex software engineering and architecture tasks with a minimum of supervision or oversight. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Job Duties

  • Interact with Government sponsors to test new capabilities on existing architectures.
  • Conduct test execution and data collection, including travel, as needed.
  • Provide engineering level documentation to enable testing and reporting.
  • Devise and create test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Aid contractors and review/maintain an integrated master test schedule.
  • Design/write test reports within required time standards, including preliminary and final reports, to support fielding decisions.
  • Participate in the tracking and evaluate severity of Deficiency Report statuses.
  • Support detailed test planning activities such as: identifying equipment needs and shipping, test resource requirements and de-confliction, etc.
  • Assist in the execution of acquisition strategies, including drafting Statement of Work, Statement of Objectives, Request for Proposal preparations, monitoring deliverables, and attending acquisition related meetings.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work closely in a fast paced, small engineering team which includes other software engineers, DSP engineers, hardware engineers, and systems engineers.
  • Must be able to Obtain and Maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience.

  • Associates degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Systems Engineering or Industrial Engineering.

  • Communications and coordination skills with technical team members across multiple organizations to plan, execute, and post-process test activities and data.

  • Travel to customer sites.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with government testing and system engineering.
  • Experience implementing and managing test engineering processes and interacting with contractors.
  • Experience on programs focused on system research, development, test, and evaluation.
  • Experience SATCOM technology.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
