Job Description:

UDRI is seeking an entry level engineer to support various aircraft structural integrity programs. Specific job duties will include the following: developing highly-detailed computer aided design (CAD) models and assemblies of structural systems; creating highly-detailed drawings of those systems; developing large bill-of-material and technical data lists containing multiple part and assembly descriptors; performing structural analysis/finite element analysis (FEA) of aircraft components and test fixtures; supporting testing of aircraft components; and, developing technical documentation including presentations, reports, drawings, or other engineering data.
 
Minimum Qualifications
R1 level
A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, or in Engineering Technology, from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
The candidate must be proficient using the standard suite of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
The candidate must have coursework and/or experience working with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
The candidate must have strong verbal and interpersonal skills, and must be able to interact effectively with other engineers, as well as with current and potential customers.
The candidate must exhibit attention-to-detail and be able to work effectively in a timely manner.
Due to the security clearance requirements of this position, US citizenship is required.
The candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check.
R2 level
To include a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of experience using SolidWorks CAD software, including drawing generation, is preferred.
Experience with FEA software (Abaqus or Ansys) is desired.
Hands-on experience with mechanical and structural systems is preferred.
Experience with computer programming for engineering applications using Matlab, VBA, Python, or similar codes is desired.
