Overview
 

We are currently seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer (BSME, Mechanical P.E. required) in our Jacksonville, Florida office. In this role, you will assist in the determination of the cause, origin, and extent of mechanical building system and product failures. Duties involve the investigation and analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial facilities for the purpose of resolving claims and legal disputes. Assignments may include wet or dry facility mechanical systems investigations, vehicle system failures, and equipment or product failures.

 

You will also perform vehicle collision reconstruction, including commercial vehicles, conduct engineering and mechanical evaluations, and analysis of automobiles, equipment and machinery. Prepare oral and written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation. Provide opinions and expert testimony. Other duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and oversee field-testing.

Responsibilities
 

Day to day will involve:

  • Performing vehicle collision reconstruction, including commercial vehicles, conducting engineering and mechanical evaluations, and analysis of automobiles, equipment and machinery.
  • Preparing oral and written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
  • Providing opinions and expert testimony.
  • Other activities may include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and oversee field-testing.

Qualifications
 

To be considered and successful, you will need:

  • Minimum of a BSME Mechanical Engineering (MUST HAVE)
  • Florida PE License (MUST HAVE)
  • 5-8 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer 
  • Testifying history preferred
  • Independent judgment; strong analytical skills, can do attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office Products
  • Ability to travel with an overnight travel component of up to 10%
