Job Description:

We are seeking a talented & dynamic individual to fill the position of Electrical Engineer in Wood Dale, Illinois. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing organization. As a member of Videojet’s Sustaining Engineering function, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, validating, and implementing Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) solutions for reliability and cost improvements. 

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Work cross-functionally to provide on time/on budget technical VAVE solutions
  • Determine specifications of legacy electronics, such as PCBs, circuits, cables, connectors
  • Evaluate the feasibility of VAVE ideas
  • Provide technical solutions to realize the project proposals
  • Design/evaluate cost-effective product changes
  • Create alternative lower cost solutions to legacy electronics
  • Develop test plans to validate design solutions
  • Verify designs through the use of lab testing, analysis, and simulation tools
  • Interact with manufacturing, procurement, tech support, and other engineering disciplines
  • Report to Engineering Manager with current project status

 

Qualifications:
 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years engineering experience in product development or product maintenance of line
  • Demonstrated skills and experience with the following: digital circuits, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout, micro-processors, control systems, power supplier, and electromechanical interfaces
  • Knowledge and experience with regulatory/safety requirements and tests
  • Proven experience with a track record of quality-cost effective solutions
  • Experience with product change control
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a team-based environment
  • Excellent presentation skills to communicate with stake holders
  • Experience with electromechanical assemblies (pumps, solenoid valves, fans) is a plus
