Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a motivated individual with strong technical and engineering skills to fill the position of a Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) Engineer in the Southwest Region (SWR) Traffic Operations Office in Vancouver, WA. The WZTC Engineer will provide guidance, support, and expertise related to work zone temporary traffic control design and strategies on the State Highway system within the SWR. This position will be responsible to ensure temporary traffic control implemented in the field is in compliance with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) standards.  The main focus of the Work Zone Traffic Engineer is to be the primary regional support/coordinator of WZTC related tasks within the SWR, with the goal of limiting congestion and crashes within work zones.
