Purpose: 
  •  Valkyrie Enterprises, Inc subsidiary, is in need of a I/O Cable Plant Engineer CAD Technician who uses CAD workstation to prepare drawings on system design and modifications.
Job Description: 
  • Provide Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawing capability for the creation and update of Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) telecommunications, IT infrastructure, and systems drawings
  • Provide drawing that reflect engineered solutions be of sufficient detail to serve as installation drawings.
  • Convert the mark-up drawings to final, as-built drawings.
  • Complete all drawings in  AutoCAD to comply with Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) and USAF standards.
Qualifications: 
  • Must have at least 3 years' of AutoCAD experience.
  • Must meet at least one of the following educational requirements:
    • Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
    • Completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics
    • Completion of at least three (3) U.S. Military schools in electronic communications equipment or systems, and Grade E-5 or equivalent
    • Completion of AutoCAD Level 1
  • Must pass a pre-deployment screening and complete a military Combat Readiness Center (CRC) process
Desired Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge/experience with IT infrastructure, systems, and equipment, such as:
    • Copper, coaxial and fiber optic cables, underground and direct buried cabling systems
    • Fiber optic modems, fiber multiplex equipment, fiber patch panels, analog and digital copper patch panels, main and intermediate distribution frames
    • Lightning protection and supporting ground and power connections
    • Cabinets, cable ladder and rack systems, and equipment components in the cabinet
  • Completion of AutoCAD level 2 training
  • Familiarity with military organizations, protocols, procedures, and processes, and working knowledge of addressing issues/concerns using the chain-of-command.
Security Requirement: 
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must pass a pre-deployment screening and complete a military Combat Readiness Center (CRC) process
Travel Requirement: 
  • 0-10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirement: 
  • Repetitive motion, Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Visual Acuity (depth perception)
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, 25 pounds of force frequently, or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia)
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, Communicating with others to exchange information, Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
