Position: Senior Marine Mechanical/Piping Designer
Job duties:- Produce drawings for ships, vessels, and boats;
- Produce functional design for piping systems (piping fittings for vessels) and drawings;
- Produce piping and auxiliary system functional and design drawings;
- Support efforts in turning specifications, sketches, requirements, etc, into end state functional and detail drawings. Review drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and standards;
- Work between the 3D Modelling Team and the Piping Engineering Team to assist in synthesizing and integrating information into the 3D Model.
Terms of employment: Permanent – Full Time.

Wage: $85 CAD per hour

Skills requirements:
- Must have diploma in Technology or in a related discipline (Marine is preferred) or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and 3 years of related work;
- Must have at least 3 years of related work experience in areas of piping design detail design, piping layout & support drawings, preform steel fitting works for vessels;
- Must be proficient in the use of Ship Constructor and Ship Building. Other CAD tools will be considered as an asset;
- Must be able to produce 3D models using a suitable tool such as SolidWorks;
- Must be able to produce functional design (read and interpret drawings and specifications) and steel outfitting drawings. Produce piping and auxiliary system functional and design drawings;
- Experience working with Piping design, or installation of piping systems in ships preferred (not applicable for industrial or commercial operations);
- Familiarity with research ship, commercial vessel design or Coast Guard or Naval vessels preferred;
- Experience with piping design is an asset preferred;
- At least 5 year of drafting/design experience in the marine/shipbuilding design environment preferred. Preferably with commercial vessel or Coast Guard or Naval type vessels;
- Ability to turn specifications, sketches, requirements, etc., into end state functional and detail drawings preferred. Review drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
