Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Construction Division, Geotechnical Office in Tumwater, WA is currently seeking an experienced engineering geologist to fill a managerial vacancy. This position is an assistant to the State Engineering Geologist and manages the Unstable Slopes Unit and the GIS program within the Geotechnical Office. The incumbent will supervise a GIS specialist along with engineering geologists directing the execution of comprehensive engineering geology projects of significant scope and complexity in the areas of rock slope engineering and stabilization, rockfall control, landslide stabilization, and soil cuts/embankment design and construction statewide. This position requires a highly developed knowledge of engineering geology design principles of considerable depth and breadth. The incumbent will serve as a senior technical expert to the Region Materials, Design, Construction, and Maintenance and Headquarters’ personnel relative to engineering geology problems, unstable slopes, and geotechnical asset management.
