We are looking for an energetic and experienced Engineering Manager who can help us to achieve our strategic goals. This position is responsible for maintaining our product model database, standard engineering practices and engineer to order daily activities. The engineering manager leads the team that responsible for production data accuracy leading production problem resolution as related to model or bill-of-material accuracy assisting other product support teams when necessary. Additionally, the engineering manager should always be on the lookout for non-value add work within their own team and Watson as a whole striving for a more complete and accurate process. They are an excellent teacher working with junior engineers to improve their problem-solving skills, approach to product quality, design for manufacturing thinking and communication.
 
What you’ll do:

• Prioritize engineer to order work to ensure production teams have accurate and complete information
• Track and improve the days to engineer and release order to production
• Act as product expert for Production, Sales and engineering teams
• Responsible for ensuring modified products meet form, fit and function requirements per customer request
• Staff and manage an engineer in production rotation
• Ensure that production problem reports are addressed in a timely manner and complete root cause analysis is preformed preventing future issues
• Responsible for addressing and actively managing engineering CSR’s

What you’ll need to know:

• How to work with and optimize 3D model software, specifically Autodesk Inventor. And have a strong understanding of its capabilities
• How to complete parametric modeling and be able to read, write and understand coding C++, VBA or similar coding language
• How to be data orientated and comfortable with parsing information in SQL, MS access and Excel
• How to be process focused and make improvements to the process in a fast paced environment

Who you are:

• Someone with a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in an Engineering field
• Someone with 5+ years of engineering experience, of which at least 2-3 years of leadership
• Someone willing to roll up your sleeves and do the work when necessary
• Someone who makes good decisions in a timely manner
• Someone who is trusting and quick to build relationships but also willing to perform your own analysis and verify what you are told
• Someone who doesn’t just accept the status quo but are always looking for improvement
• Someone who is consistently a top performer, pushing your team to achieve great things and recognizing their accomplishments
• Someone who doesn’t shy away from issue; you take them on as an opportunity for improvement
