Our Cresco, Iowa Food manufacturing client is looking to hire a Process/ Project Engineer. This  Engineer will support existing manufacturing processes to ensure quality, safety and economic viability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical support as needed to the existing manufacturing processes.
  • Support and/or lead as needed the site’s process trial runs to align with the manufacturing site’s objectives and priorities.
  • Lead and/or support engineering projects at the facility including ensuring their success in meeting various objectives such as schedule, budget and related.
  • Support the development of a project budget and monitor expenses, adjust and offset expenses in other areas as necessary.
  • Consult with contractors, vendors, and/or suppliers to finalize projects and present to corporate engineering and site management.
  • Report back to site management team and corporate engineering on project status.
  • Meet with relevant customers to ensure needs are met and/or find and determine the relevant path forward and justified by business objectives.
  • Support and/or lead the development and writing of manufacturing SOP’s and/or work instructions with Process Leads.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and help asses and minimize risks to the company in all areas such as health, safety, environment, quality, ethics and customer service.
  • As needed, meet with Management Team to fulfill change requirement for all changes that are made at the facility.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related Preferred along with 5 years experience in applying engineering principles and processes. OR 10+ years experience without a degree.
  • Food Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Project Mangers and Customers.
  • Knowledge of equipment, production and packaging processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO, QSR/GMT and quality processes and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams on projects.
