Job Description:

An exciting new role in a growing team dedicated to developing non-carrier added lutetium-177 for cancer therapies. The Mechanical Engineer-Therapeutics will work closely with the team to execute laboratory experiments, design experiments, and select process equipment.  This role will involve both hands-on build/test activities and design activities.  A strong desire to learn new technology and curiosity about nuclear medicine is required.  This fast-paced development cycle will result in a product that will help treat certain life-threatening forms of cancer.  We are looking for team members that will fit well into this environment.

Candidates with experience on designing systems for high reliability/maintainability and/or experience in maintaining complex systems are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with team members to execute laboratory experiments
  • Executes tasks as assigned and identifies opportunities
  • Helps to manage laboratory preparedness and cleanliness
  • Helps to develop and review experimental plans
  • Provides ideas and feedback on process and equipment design
  • Must follow laboratory safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, physics
  • Strong desire to learn and be taught about pharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine
  • Willingness to learn and understand new technology, instrumentation, and technical processes
  • Ability to read from engineering drawings or schematics
  • Ability to follow written procedures and accurately record test data
  • Ability to work safely within an industrial and radiation environment
