Job Description:

The BAS Application Engineer will be responsible for assisting project engineers, project managers, and technicians with application and product selection support. They will also use their technical expertise to advise internal and external customers. This position is required to closely interact with project engineers, project managers, salespeople, programmers, and assigned project staff to assist with the timely completion of each project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for building automation system design for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Interpret design drawings and specifications
  • Submittal development and preparation consisting of: control wiring diagrams, airflow diagrams, piping systems diagrams, BAS equipment selection, floor plan generation, sequence of operation, valve schedules, and damper schedules
  • Complete or review BAS submittals, as-builts, bid documents, and mechanical drawings as requested
  • Prepare material requisition lists for project managers
  • Provide application engineering support, product research, and technical documentation to field technicians, project managers, and installation contractor as needed
  • Integration of multiple vendor systems to the building automation system
  • Engineer multiple projects
  • Meet with contractors and consulting engineers regarding project design and submittal approval
  • Attend job meetings, as required, to fulfill contract requirements
  • Assist with customer and associate training
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School or GED 3+ years DDC Controls experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and other construction documents related to job bids
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor/Associates degree in electronics or mechanical field
  • Proficient with Microsoft products as well as Adobe Acrobat, Visio, or Bluebeam
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with DDC control programming and HVAC applications
