Job Description:

As the Sr. Facilities Engineer you will be accountable for driving results by identifying, evaluating, and implementing engineering improvements at the facilities and utilities, with a special emphasis on the site’s Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer.  Implementing and designing projects (capital, construction, utility, green initiatives, process improvement efforts) includes working with cross-functional departments to understand the scope and needs of the project, then developing the project implementation plan within budget and schedule guidelines.  You will also be expected to handle the majority of design responsibilities for these projects.  You will review product design for quality compliance, safety and adherence to company standards and customer contract requirements.  In this position you will ensure the project accomplishes objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.  Provide day-to-day performance monitoring and feedback and is responsible for full management of scoping, design, bid analysis and construction contractors, along with fiscal management of each project and a group of projects to meet all financial and schedule targets.  You will team up with executives, managers and staff to work on various aspects of planning, evaluating (cost/benefit), managing operational impacts of construction and evaluating ongoing operational aspects.

 

Key competencies

  • Project Management Skills (i.e. budget tracking, schedule development and adherence, project reporting, etc.)
  • Knowledge GMP standards, NESHAP and applicable EPA regulations, NFPA & FM guidelines
  • Safety Knowledge (understands OSHA requirements)
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Applications including Visio
  • Knowledge of Construction Management
  • Scheduling Software: Microsoft Project preferred
  • Knowledge of space utilization
  • No direct reports, but accountable for leading and influencing many others.

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline related to the occupation. Applicable Engineering disciplines for this position include Environmental, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical.
  • Experience with Thermal Oxidizer systems, Managing operation and maintenance of high efficiency regenerative thermal oxidizers to air permit requirements is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of gas fired burners, PLC based controls, HMI's and mechanical/electrical instrumentation, electricals is required
  • 10 years experience as a Project Engineer or Environmental pollution control device engineer, Project Manager, or Construction Superintendent.
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD required.
