Job Description:

Develop, integrate and implement comprehensive health, safety and environment management improvements and systems. Ensure timely reporting of HSE materials to ABFI. Oversee implementation of HSE Management systems such as ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 as well as technical supervision to the based HSE contacts.

Support or lead management initiatives to foster a culture of safe behavior. For capital investments, be the source of information on HSE related topics.

 

  • Ensure clear HSE expectations and standards that are communicated throughout the business. Act as business representative towards authorities and auditors maintaining compliance while keeping business objectives in mind.

  • Stay up to date of pending legislation that requires planning and implementation prior to specified dates.

  • Ensure effective management systems are in place for holding local management accountable for active management of HSE risks within their area of control as part of normal daily duties. Coach all staff in the continued improvement to HSE. Show presence and engagement across site in all departments.

  • Obtain OSHA Outreach certification in accordance with 29CFR 1910 federal regulations and as approved by National Safety Council in order to provide OSHA 10 and 30 hour training to line management and other staff as necessary.

  • Manage third party HSE audits. Schedule and coordinate all HSE audits, review action items to completion.

 

Skills and Requirements

    • Minimum of five years of food industry experience.
    • Bachelor degree
    • Experience in production/manufacturing environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and coach people. Capability to influence at all levels..
    • Lead the HSE department by visible and practical interaction with all stakeholders. Support or lead management initiatives to foster a culture of safe behavior.
    • Regulatory compliance knowledge in GMP, HACCP, EPA, FDA, USDA and FSIS.
