raSmith is a consulting civil engineering and land surveying company dedicated to our clients, employees and profession.  Our clients come to us for creative and effective solutions for their projects.  Our work includes both private and public sector projects in land development, transportation/traffic, structural, municipal and ecological areas.  We work on projects nationwide from our seven locations in Wisconsin, Illinois and California.

Our Land Development Division currently has an opening for a Project Engineer.  This position will be based in our Brookfield, WI office.  This position will manage the technical site design and permitting process for projects that prepare land for development or redevelopment.  The Land Development Group works in commercial/retail, educational, health care, industrial, institutional, residential and other markets.
  • Experience is needed in the areas of hydrology, site and paving plans, erosion control and grading plans, and wet utility design/plan preparation including water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer for both public and private systems. 
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, scheduling and coordinating the design for the above mentioned areas, preparing permit applications and submittals and researching potential development sites.
  • Responsibilities also include maintaining project compliance with state and local codes, laws ordinances and agency requirements.
  • This position provides the opportunity to work directly with the client as well as to supervise the work of CE’s, Technicians, and PE’s while taking an active role in their development.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, P.E. license (and willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states) and at least 10 years of progressive experience in land development design and civil engineering.  Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and hydrology and hydraulic software is needed.
