Established civil engineering and land surveying firm is seeking a motivated, honest and accountable Civil Engineering Designer with a great attitude and work ethic to be part of our team.   We have a wide array of projects which include industrial, commercial and residential development.  Our work is located all over California. Our office, with a family like environment, is located in Fresno (California Central Valley).

Civil Engineering Designer will provide engineering design and drafting support in the preparation of civil engineering plans (grading, street and utilities improvements) for industrial, residential, commercial and public infrastructure projects. Candidate will work under the guidance of Project Engineers & Project Managers, and shall be able to work collaboratively with a multi-discipline design team. Individual should be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects. Position requires strong written and communication skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, grading and drainage design, wet utilities (sanitary sewer, water, and storm drain) design, drainage analysis, storm water management plans and calculations, and street improvements. Individual will ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.  In addition, interaction with clients and consultants will be necessary, including correspondence and attending meetings, as well as working with staff of various jurisdictions to assist in obtaining project approvals.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the design and preparation of civil engineering construction documents for land development and/or public works. (Based on applicants, candidate with less experience may still be considered.)
• CA  Licensed Civil Engineer is desired but not required
• BS in Civil Engineering or AA degree in technically related field is preferred (surveying or construction)
• Have knowledge of methods, practices, techniques, and mathematical procedures for engineering design.
• Able to prepare, understand and interpret engineering plans, specifications, diagrams, and notes.
• Able to develop, complete and comprehend project schedules.
• Able to perform complex mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment and to direct junior staff members.
• Able understand various regulatory codes.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD & Civil 3D (pipe networks, assemblies, corridors, etc.)
• Proficiency in other design software  a plus
• Have solid understanding of project budget requirements, time management skills, and client relations.
• Must be organized, able to work well under pressure and to multi-task with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills are a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills with great attitude is required
• Full range of visual depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Must speak, read, and write English fluently
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Valid Driver's License with insurable DMV record
