Job Description:

Mechanical Project Engineer - $75-85K – Heavy Industrial CNC Machined Components - Reports to the Plant Engineering Manager with the responsibility for providing technical mechanical engineering assistance. The position includes management of plant capital and maintenance projects—from specification and design to installation; equipment modification for reliability improvement; equipment rebuilds; and technical liaison with plant Maintenance Department. Manage all phases of engineering projects from project request to project closure: Lead project team in the development of a solution to a project request.  Design solution & produce drawings based upon scope of work & interaction with end-user. Formulate scope/specifications for the purchase of capital and non-capital equipment and contract labor Develop and utilize project risk management plan. Prepare appropriation requests for capital equipment purchases & major repairs. Track/forecast project costs to maintain good budget control. Develop and maintain project schedule using Gantt charts. Accomplish project work with vendors & contractors through professional and effective use of established departmental and divisional purchasing procedures (bid inquiry, bid procedure, liaison, and contract specifications).
 
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Minimum of 5 years engineering design and/or project management experience. Experience in heavy industry preferred
Knowledge/experience of project management methodology such as PMBOK or similar. AutoCAD and Solid Works proficiency. MS Office and SAP proficiency. Good interpersonal skills and communication skills. Design and analytical skills. Demonstrated problem solving ability - troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and countermeasure identification
