Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Our client is looking for a technical manager for their plant site about an hour to 45 minutes East of Minneapolis / St. Paul MN in Wisconsin.

You will lead a team and manage all aspects of engineering and maintenance in this 60 person food ingredients manufacturing site. This role will ensure plant reliability and continuous improvement by setting the direction and strategy for maintenance, ensuring equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in compliance with all norms and regulations. This role will also set the capital plan for the facility, organize reviews, prepare requests, and manage all aspects of projects.

Direct reports include a maintenance supervisor and staff plus a project engineer.  To be successful you will focus on leadership of the team, focus on continuous improvement, provide strategic direction for the department (organization, capex,…), utilize and setup outside resources to support, provide input to and manage the budget, staying current with best practices and regulations, collaborate with peers and coworkers.

Essential Skills & Knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, food science engineer, or related fields.
• 10+ years experience in managing large capital projects.
• 5+ years experience managing teams.
• Working knowledge of maintenance and reliability.
• Proven project manager. Able to handle all aspects of a project, whether on own or working with engineering firms and vendors.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Able to multi-task
• Interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive oral and written skills.
• Computer skills.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
• Experience with spray drying processes, dairy processes, & related utilities equipment
• Experience working in a maintenance and reliability department
• Project Management certifications
• Working knowledge of process safety concepts, particularly with explosion protection and fire protection.
• Familiarity with plant maintenance software’s and implementation.
• Background in 6 sigma or other related programs for efficiency and continuous improvement
