Job Description:
Our client is currently looking for an experienced, accomplished, self-motivated Electrical Controls Engineer to lead in developing our products and systems. The Electrical Controls Engineer will work with a variety of functional groups that are directly involved in engineering, product development, implementation, and manufacturing partners.
Duties:
  • Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electronics, circuit design and software control.
  • Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
  • Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD) to perform engineering tasks.
  • Support Business Development with product development and testing.
  • Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing materials, assemblies and systems.
  • Performs system design, programming, simulation and testing using various software and protocols.
  • Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications for embedded systems.
  • Responsible for programming motion controls systems and the associated interfacing.
  • Responsible for motor sizing, torque/speed calculations, and motion mechanism types.
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Prepares test plans and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and data.
  • Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with company rules and regulations.
  • Maintains product data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ electrical engineering experience
  • Competent in the use of electrical engineering and control software (Labview, CAN, etc)
  • Strong understanding of electrical manufacturing processes
  • Able to problem solve and troubleshoot as the need arises
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
