Job Title: Senior Project Engineer (Highway Design)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose, Santa Rosa, Pleasanton, Redwood City)

 

A Top Design Firm in California is seeking Mid to Senior-Level Project Engineer in Civil Engineering who has experience working on highway design projects. Essential Duties of Senior Project Engineer:

  • Caltrans Design utilizing geometric approval drawings, fact sheets/exception reports, and PSR, PSR/PDS or PR reports
  • PS&E Final Design package – plan, profile and cross sections
  • Roadway or Rail Designs – streetscape, green streets, bicycle path plans
  • ASHTO, FHWA, City and County standards
  • Prepare reports and conceptual studies
  • Prepare specifications and quantity takeoffs/cost estimates
  • Projects will include Highway, Caltrans, Roadway, Light/Heavy Rail, and Public Works Projects
  • Provide input to Project Managers in preparing current project status reports to keep clients informed
  • Lead the quality control efforts on your projects
  • Learn business development and client relation skills

Senior Project Engineer Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience desired in Civil Engineering to include standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E) License
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering preferred
  • Extensive knowledge in site development, grading, utilities, and drainage design for Highway, Roadway, Rail and public works projects.
  • Ability to Travel within the Northern California Bay Area (Pleasanton, San Jose, Redwood City)
  • CalTrans experience and knowledge, to include PR and PSR reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D mastery required
