TITLE OF POSITION: Director of Engineering

DEPARTMENT: Research & Development

REPORTS TO: President

Position Summary – This position provides leadership for all engineering functions, which includessupervising and managing all departmental personnel. The Director of Engineering is responsible foroverseeing projects for new and existing products to include design and production, ensuring uppermanagement is informed as to the status of ongoing projects and jobs. This position conducts all administrative,training and staffing functions for the Engineering department. This position is located in Dallas, Texas.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES (to include but not limited to)

 Provide leadership and direction for all departmental personnel

 Provide technical management assistance and direction in the support of programs

 Responsible for the manufacturing engineering function related to manufacturing cost reduction or qualityimprovement

 Oversee engineering qualification test procedures and associated data sheets

 Provide supervision and responsibility of all projects:

-determine assets needed to facilitate progress of all projects

-drive projects from conceptual design through production release

 Responsible for all legal liaison regarding patent issues

 Responsible for the research/testing of new technology applications

 Directs department activities to design new products and oversee product development process

 Administrative functions to include scheduling and budgeting and reporting to management

 Meet near and long term personnel forecast projections

 Identify and maintain critical skill disciplines and assure all personnel are trained

 Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relationsand/or departmental relations

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum BSEE, BSCS Degree from an ABET accredited institution

 Experience in Commercial, Military and/or Maritime Environment

 Experience in power conversion; power supplies, hardware interfaces, drive controls

 At least ten years management responsibility for multi-disciplined engineering team

 Proven organizational skills, including scheduling, planning, and coordinating details

 Strategic planning skills that insure projects stay on tasks and on time

 Interpersonal skills, including motivation and training
