SHINE is immediately seeking a Nuclear Quality Manager reporting directly to the VP of Regulatory Affairs and Quality.  This position is responsible for the implementation and oversight of all nuclear quality activities.  The purpose of the position is to take a leadership role in ensuring that we exceed our customer’s expectations by working directly with customers, suppliers, vendors, contactors and internal resources in developing SOP’s, obtaining requested information, problem resolution, and identifying opportunities for company-wide improvement in our manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing systems to manage changes to SOPs, quality policies, training materials, and procedures focusing on improving nuclear quality.
  • Timely managing resolution issues through an Issues Management Systems
  • Mentoring co-workers, internal customers and less experienced quality personnel with interpretation of NRC regulatory requirements, SOP requirements, and other guidance documents.
  • Perform external supplier and vendor qualification assessments
  • Provide a supportive role, as necessary, as a QA representative in NRC regulatory agency assessments.
  • The manager will balance the responsibilities of the nuclear quality department with the needs and goals of the Company to produce results that support the Company business objectives.

Key requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific discipline.
  • 5 years of recent nuclear quality management experience
  • Technical understanding of nuclear facility principles and operations
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), a plus

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls regulations. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug test, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check
