Job Description:

This position supports a global Citrix infrastructure and customers in a rapidly changing environment. Agility, customer centricity and creativity will be critical for the successful candidate to fit into the organization. The Jr. Citrix Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluations, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure the enterprise Citrix systems and infrastructure related equipment meets company and user satisfaction. This individual works closely with, and provides support to Global IT team members and their clients. This position is also responsible in the design and build of enterprise components for deployment, based upon client or management specifications. The position deals heavily with the user population and local facilities on a daily basis, and as such, the person we seek will conduct themselves in a professional, helpful and supportive manner at all times. Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations.

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that security and standardization is considered and emphasized in all plans and actions
  • Utilization of Citrix provisioning and MCS services to deliver highly virtualized dynamic workloads.
  • Manage complex Citrix core infrastructures.
  • Inclusive of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, Appsense Profile Management, Provisioning/MCS Services, in a redundant Vmware Vsphere hypervisor environment.
  • Build, test, deploy, and maintain Citrix session server images.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with Windows 7/10 and application delivery/packaging solutions - including application streaming, sequencing and isolation.
  • Configures, installs, and maintains wide area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, switches, modems, and cabling.
  • Ensure hardware, software, and network upgrades, installations, re-installations, changes, and relocations are efficiently completed as required.
  • Provide support during network outages/incidents and ensuring all stakeholders are informed and vendors are engaged to work the problem to resolution
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal customers and vendors
  • Ensure the network architecture and device configurations and standards are adhered to and meet best practice and compliance requirements.
  • Collects and analyzes network and system utilization, and recommend changes as required.
  • Researches and evaluates new technologies.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the network are thoroughly documented, up-to-date and accessible to the department.

Qualifications
Experience:

  • 1+ years' experience with enterprise High Availability Citrix farms

Education:

  • Associates, Technical School or Bachelor's Degree
  • Cisco, Microsoft, VMWARE, Citrix, Netapp, Appsense, Certifications a plus

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with entire Citrix Suite. Image creation, testing, roll-outs, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Citrix V7.6 Core component services and XenApp/XenDesktop/HDX environments using Appsense to manage user profiles and configurations.
  • Command line, powershell, and other scripting for administration and support.
  • Experience publishing applications through XenDestop as well as experience providing supporting Windows Servers and VMware environments.
  • Knowledge with Microsoft infrastructure technologies including: DHCP, DNS, WINS, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects.
  • Experience in delivering local area services for clients in various network architectures and an understanding of related technologies.
  • Experience with standard change management and configuration policies.
  • Ability to monitor and recommend updates to existing software and new products
  • Technical aptitude, and interest in all things technical.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and pleasant demeanor.
  • Willingness to provide assistance in other areas of the business.
