TITLE:                                  Maintenance Engineer
DEPARTMENT:                     Maintenance                                                               
REPORTS TO:                               Maintenance Manager
Responsible for the optimal utilization of plant equipment, energy, and maintenance department resources.  Recommend improved methods, systems and tools to maximize the Maintenance Department’s support to manufacturing. .

Essential Functions:
1Identify spare parts requirements for all installed plant equipment and infrastructure. 
2Review equipment downtime occurrences and trouble reports and assist in developing countermeasures for chronic, recurring or severe occurrences.  Revise Preventive Maintenance procedures as necessary to prevent recurrence.
3Identify and define Preventive Maintenance activities for all plant equipment and infrastructure assets.
4Recommend improved work methods, tools and systems for the performance of Plant Maintenance activities. Principal individual responsible for the implementation and continuance of a Computerized Maintenance Management System. 
5Review specifications and drawings for proposed equipment purchases to insure Energy Isolation, Machine Guarding, Emergency Stop, Guard Interlocks and other health and safety requirements are met. 
6Identify and document Lock-Out-Tag-Out requirements for all plant equipment.
7Primary point of contact with outside vendors regarding facility-related repairs, inspections, and service contracts.
8Responsible to work safely and implement all safety measures and procedures.  Support and ensure compliance with current quality and environmental systems.
9Identify plant utility cost, monitor changes due to environments, identify weaknesses and excessive cost areas and recommend changes to cut cost.
1BS degree in Engineering from an accredited university; 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Maintenance role. 
2Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work in a team environment
