Job Description:

Leads technical project teams and coordinates implementation of assigned projects to make sure they are completed on time and within budget.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the project team in developing solutions to complex problems requiring unique engineering methods and analysis.
  • Leads and documents meetings with vendors, suppliers or customers as required.
  • Works with Program Managers to update project schedules and task assignments.
  • Participates in PDRs and CDRs and documents the design reviews as required.
  • Provides assistance and technical support to project teams including product design, test plan development, analytical methods, requirements analysis and model-based system engineering processes.
  • Demonstrates and promotes teamwork and cooperation with team members at all levels in the organization to solve problems and improve processes.
  • Performs other special assignments as directed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Has a proven track record leading technical projects for DoD and aerospace customers in a matrixed organization.
  • Proficient in at least one engineering discipline such as mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, electrical engineering, software design or embedded systems design.
  • Has expertise in model-based systems engineering and tools.
  • Familiar with the fundamentals of guidance and control algorithms including seeker methods, Kalman filtering and sensor fusion.
  • Experience working with guided munition systems or components such gun-hardened GPS, IMU, Guidance Electronic Unit (GEU) or Control Actuation Systems (CAS).
  • Technical expertise in integrating and testing guidance related sub-systems; Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing using MatLab and Simulink a plus.
  • Experience designing for high shock and high temperature environments.
  • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design to Cost (DTC).
  • Familiar with Integrated Product Development methods and product life cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in the English language. Must be capable of writing and reviewing test plans, test reports, and failure analysis reports.
  • Proficient with MS Project and MS Office applications (such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a related Engineering field such as Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics. A minimum of seven (7 ) years combined experience in engineering and leading technical projects with at least two (2) years of leading technical projects.
