Lotus Water is seeking a candidate with 7-10 years of experience, to work in our San Francisco office.  Lotus is continuing to grow our capital infrastructure and redevelopment work for multiple public and private sector clients in San Francisco.  We are working on some of the most high-profile redevelopment projects on the waterfront that include climate resilience and unique sustainable innovations such as on-site water reuse and are looking for a project manager to help us deliver this exciting work.    Candidates should have a strong technical understanding of urban infrastructure engineering practices, experience working in or for the public sector, and the ability to communicate with clients and teaming partners.  Additionally, candidates should have a good understanding of the civil infrastructure design and delivery process, and a strong interest in improving these skills through their work on projects of various scales that include forward-thinking water management, sustainable urban development/redevelopment, or capital infrastructure delivery and operation. 
 
This candidate will work closely with senior staff and directly with clients on large infrastructure projects in multiple West Coast cities.  The candidate will possess demonstrable knowledge and experience performing engineering technical tasks and possess strong communication and organizational skills.  In addition to performing project management and coordination tasks with the support of junior staff, this candidate will work closely with senior staff and be mentored in the areas of contract management, business development, water resource engineering, technical writing, and infrastructure master planning.  
 
The essential functions of this position include:
  • Coordinate directly with clients, staff, and teaming partners
  • Perform budgetary, planning, scheduling, and technical activities related to a broad range of engineering, administrative, and other projects or programs
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to multiple schedules and deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills working within an overall design team environment
  • Collaborate effectively with all levels of the company; both on-site and remotely
  • Develop technical design documents, presentations, and reports
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop and manage a team effectively while producing quantifiable results
  • Attend and facilitate meetings with multiple City departments and stakeholders
  • Possess excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Possess digital and hand graphic skills and ability to grasp all technical interrelationships between projects
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, multi-task and use time effectively
  • Work independently under general supervision, showing initiative and good business judgment
  • Demonstrate strong reading comprehension of business documents, contracts, forms, email correspondence and instructions
  • Prepare analyses, reports, correspondences, and memos
  • Maintain accurate and complete project records
  • Attend design meetings and site visits
  • Assist clients in problem solving and accessing the appropriate contract resources
Qualifications include:

Required
  • 7-10 years relevant work experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or other related technical discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Basic project management or task management experience
  • Strong initiative and technical problem-solving expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in tasks described in the essential functions listed above
  • Registered Professional Engineer in State of California or ability to acquire within 1 year
Bonus
  • Possess strong and versatile computer drawing and design skills (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • San Francisco waterfront engineering experience
  • Shoreline protection and sea level rise adaptation design experience
  • Numerical modeling experience (e.g., SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HSPF)
  • City of San Francisco infrastructure and/or streets experience
  • Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
  • Proficient in ArcGIS
  • Experience working on LID/green infrastructure and water reuse projects
  • Familiarity working with Adobe Creative Suite applications
