NVH Engineer

Our customer located in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a NVH Engineer.
 
The salary range for this position is dependent upon level of experience.
 
Will be required to drive a company car.  Valid driver’s license is required, as well as a clean driving record.  Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
 
Will be required to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%).
 
Candidates must be able to start preferably in 2 weeks, but a maximum of 3 weeks from acceptance date.
 
Description
Responsible for NVH Vehicle Development for Powertrain NVH, Ride and Shake, Wind Noise, and Operational Sound Quality.  Plan, monitor, and participate in required NVH testing, and analyze and present results of:
 
  • Vehicle testing on a track or chassis dynamometer.
  • Subjective analysis of Noise / Vibration quality.
  • Objective data analysis of Noise / Vibration.
  • Frequency analysis.
  • Order analysis / order tracking.
  • Modal analysis.
  • Transfer path analysis.
 
Required Qualifications
  • BSME or a 4-year degree in a relevant Engineering field required from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.  MS or PhD is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years (ideally 10+ years) of problem solving and root cause identification of vehicle-level NVH issues.
  • Experience with LMS Test-Lab, Artemis.
  • Candidates must have a strong understanding of the system-level attributes that drive vehicle-level NVH performance and the ability to define system and component NVH requirements to achieve vehicle level performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
  • Must be willing and able to work extra hours as necessary to complete assignments.
