QSC is a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative audio, video and control products for multiple markets including Installed Systems, Cinema, and Live Sound. We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer to work with our growing engineering team.

As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will engage with experienced technical directors, cross functional staff and outside partners to drive key aspects of product reliability requirements, execution and test. The successful candidate will be a proactive professional with outstanding communication skills and be very comfortable as a key participant on multiple design projects. You should have an excellent understanding of good reliability practices/techniques along with excellent working knowledge in reliability probabilities and statistics.

* Review and evaluate new designs to unearth reliability, quality and manufacturability concerns before mass production.
* Advocate reliability during product development and diligently work on design for reliability.
* Create and deploy risk management techniques for engineering teams.
- Develop FMEA for new designs and manufacturing processes in collaboration with Engineering and NPI
- Conduct hazard analysis' and produce risk matrices.
* Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development and in the field
* Define test methodology and test coverage to assure product reliability by product category or intended use cases.
- Develop Accelerated Life Testing/Stress Testing for components and systems.
- Create and Execute reliability test plans for qualifying new designs; Provide hands-on experimental design and execution.
* Conduct Reliability Analysis on failure data and report MTBF
* Work with supplier to assess component or subsystem reliability
* Perform Root Cause Analysis for failures by coordinating with design engineers (ME/EE)
* Document and present periodic reports of product reliability, quality and manufacturing concerns related to critical new product management.
* Work with test engineering to procure, maintain, calibrate test instruments/test chambers and test automation.
* Overseas travel up to 10%.

* 8+ years of experience with BS/MS in ME, EE, Physics or related fields
* Experience working with the design, integration, and manufacturing of electronic-mechanical assemblies and one or more of the following; Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering.
* Knowledge of PCB assembly, general PCB quality concerns and PCB test.
* Experience with electrical stress testing, environmental stress testing, fatigue testing, vibration and shock testing etc.,
* Deep knowledge of reliability concepts, methods and engineering standards, preferably in AV Systems.
* Good knowledge of statistical analysis tools ReliaSoft Weibull++, JMP, and/or Excel for designing tests and experiments, analyzing results, and performing risk assessments (NPI and sustaining).
* Working knowledge of quality principles (Cp, Cpk, SPC, and DFSS) is desired. Six Sigma and reliability certification a plus.
* Working experience in Pro Audio, AV Systems is desired.
* Experience with mechanical reliability testing and related equipment is a plus.
* ElectroAcoustic knowledge (transducers / powered speakers ) could be a plus
* Experience with Matlab/LabVIEW
* Outstanding written and verbal communication is essential.
* Must work well with multiple diverse teams at various levels within the company.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
* Excellent problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
* Must be a high-energy, hands-on individual that is self-confident in his/her technical abilities. Must be very detail-oriented and thorough in performing tasks.
* Ability to manage multiple project workloads and meet deadlines on time
* The ability to work autonomously and self-manage tasks, schedules and responsibilities is necessary.
* Must be a self-starter and have a drive to learn new skills, practice continuous improvement, and influence positive change onto processes within the company
