Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Sales Engineer, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Systems Sales Team. You will work closely with Senior Sales Engineers, Account Managers and Business Development team members to solve our customer’s most difficult mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) problems. You will serve as a technical representative and subject-matter expert in the development of MANET architectures and solutions. You will be responsible for all of the technical aspects of MANET solutions offered to our customers. You will have direct and recurring interaction with our customers. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. You will be integral in shaping future product development as you will have insight into customer challenges and market needs. You will work closely across the entire Persistent Systems team including Field Operations, Product Management, Engineering, and Quality.



  • Collaborate with Sales and Account Managers to identify and create winning sales strategies and new product opportunities
  • Contribute to Sales Engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term issues: provide information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommend options and courses of actions; implement directives
  • Develop long-term customer relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Design technical solutions to meet prospect's business, technical, and/or financial goals
  • Support and respond, in an effective and timely manner, on RFI / RFPs
  • Support technical demonstrations, including customer events and tradeshows
  • Partner with the Sales team to develop requirements documents, presentations, proposals, and ROI models, and coordinate with a team of support specialists, consultants, or project managers to execute sales objectives or to ensure that all pre-sales customer requirements are documented and transitioned
  • Maintain expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to develop and present unique solutions, and maintain knowledge of emerging trends in technology and online advertising
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during pre-sales projects
  • Serve as an internal advocate and technical lead for further development and refinement of the Cloud Relay system; develop Cloud Relay as a revenue generating capability for Persistent Systems
  • Provide guidance and requirements for customers including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces and custom installation that meet customer requirements
  • Develop customer and internal staff by providing technical information and training
  • Provide post-sales support service and technical backup as required

Job Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical sales and/or field sales
  • At least 3 years in the Intelligence Community (IC) or Cybersecurity field.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts such as wireless, Signals Intelligence (SI) and Cybersecurity, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts; ability to speak directly to technical teams and provide in-depth understanding of products and platforms
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architectures
  • Experience with MS Visio and Salesforce software packages.
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model Layer 1-3
  • Experience presenting to large groups including customers and a proven ability to adapt presentations to the technical level of the audience
  • Must be available to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Must have a TOP SECRET US Security Clearance
